1988 323 GTX, Corksport Mods

Here is the list of the mods. done to the car.  Every mod on this car was performed by Corksport of Oregon, the GTX racing specialists.  I can produce receipts for all parts and work done.  Over $15,000 has been spent on the restoration of this rare car.  I am the second owner of the GTX and have a Carfax sheet for it.  The car has never been to a track or raced.

The Run Down:

The chassis has 159k on it.  Every light works even the ones in the exterior keyhole.  The Sunroof opens smooth and fast.  Derrick at Corksport set the car up to run 15psi of boost which he guesses makes about 260hp.  He also stated with the right computer settings the injectors are good up to 20psi which would make in the neighborhood of 300hp.  I have never tried that mod.  It’s tough to shift through the first two gears fast enough before you hit the rev limiter at 15psi. This cars power train and suspension has been restored from top to bottom.   If it showed wear, it was replaced at Corksport.  Most all of the after market parts came from Corksport, check their website for prices and specs of the installed equipment.  www.corksport.com

Spare parts:

There are two sets of spare wheels and tires.

One set of original 14” wheels with wore out tires

One set of 15” RX-7 seven wheels with great winter tires mounted on them (Corksport put the package together)

The wheels and tires on the car now are 15” Stock Acura Legend wheels with new S-03 pole position tires.  The wheels look surprisingly good on the GTX.

I have other misc. spare parts. This is what I can think of off the top of my head:

New spare rear break caliper

Used distributor

Stock intercooler

Some old stock suspension pieces

Stock rear end

Asking price $6,000 OBO

* CORK SPORT VJ-14 upgrade
The Cork Sport Ball bearing turbo upgrade uses the newest technology available from Garrett.  The center section is the dual ball bearing GT-25 cartridge.  The compressor housing is a T-3 style.  The best part of this turbo is that it retains the IHI exhaust housing so it can be used with the stock B6T exhaust manifold..  The turbo includes new oil feed line, coolant fittings and oil return hose.  This upgrade does require a good used IHI VJ-14 exhaust housing.  If you cannot supply one please contact a sales representative to see if one is available from Cork Sport. $1300.00

* CORKSPORT Performance cam set (GTX)
The Cork Sport camshaft set are designed for the 323 GT/GTX B6T motor for good increase in torque and hp.  Specs are 200 duration @.050 with .352 lift intake and 205 duration @.050 with .352 lift exhaust.  They are made to be used with stock lifter and springs.
